After you have downloaded and installed ZArchiver apk on your Android smartphone, or Windows PC it is time to run the app and start using it. To help you with this task, we have written this quick guide, which you can read down below.
First Usage
ZArchiver app is extremely user-friendly:
- To select or deselect file/folder tap on them.
- To access extra options long-press files/folders.
- To navigate through folders, you must deselect all files first.
To create a new folder, archive, or file or tap on the button located at the bottom left of the screen.

Archive Options
There are several options when creating a new archive:
Archive name
Use whatever name you want
Archive format
Available formats are:
- 7zip
- zip
- tar
- tar.bz2
- tar.gz
- tar.xz
- tar.lz4
- tar.zstd
Compression Level
Available levels:
- No compression
- Fastest
- Fast
- Normal
- Maximum
- Ultra
Encryption
Note: encryption varies depending on the file format. Tar-based archives can use only Data AES-256 encryption.
Password
You may protect your archive with a password. Tar archives do not allow password protection.
Spit into volumes
You may split your archive into volumes of 5, 10, 24, 50, 100 or custom size.
Additional options:
- Delete source files after compression
- Create separate archive
- 7z archive solid mode
Buttons at the top right corner
Select/deselect all
Menu for selected files. The following options are available:
- Compress
- Extract
- Test
- Copy
- Cut
- Paste
- Delete
Allows you to change the view (detailed, compact, grid), enable/disable hidden files and choose preferable sorting (name, size, date, type, desc).
Access to settings of the ZArchiver app. There are various settings, including the type of root access (SU or Shizuku/SUI), compression settings, encoding and many more.
